September 17, 2010 - Friends of Michigan Veterans Home's co-founder Mike Burri presents Harold Ziegler Ford with a wall plaque in grateful appreciation of the generous gift of $15,000.00, the proceeds of which came from tickets sold to win a jeep:

                      




 

 

 

 

 


 

Friends of Michigan Veterans Homes, Inc. has been alerted to State budget cutbacks which have affected our veterans.  Among activities cut were $2,500.00 for the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to decorate veterans' graves for Memorial Day and $125.00 per month for the cookie/hot chocolate/ice cream fund.

Our veterans greatly appreciate your generosity. Immediate personal needs for residents of both Michigan Veterans Homes is mouthwash (alcohol free), denture brushes and dishes, baby powder, after have & cologne, stamps. 


Friends of Michigan Veterans Homes, Inc. was recently awarded a generous grant in the amount of $50,000.00 from the M. E. Davenport Foundation.  These funds were shared between the Grand Rapids and the Marquette locations to improve the Member's lounge areas. $35,000.00 of this grant purchased new televisions for the members of the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.  Please read article on October 13, 2009 in the Grand Rapids Press.
